Chasseurs d'Afrique

The Chasseurs d'Afrique (Hunters of Africa) were a light cavalry version of the French Foreign Legion, numbering 12 regiments by World War II. They historically were clothed in a blue uniform, thus earning them the nickname "Blue Butchers" by some of their opponents.

The Chasseurs won their greatest fame by securing the flank of Lord Cardigan during the ill-fated Charge of the Light Brigade.
