Chasseur

A Chasseur (a French term for "hunter") is a soldier, especially one of certain French light infantry or cavalry troops, trained for rapid action. The name was also used for certain infantry units in the French Army comprised of hunters or woodsmen. Recognized for their aiming skills with a rifle, the chasseurs are comparable to the German J?ger, also hunters known for their sharpshooting skills.

A chasseur cap is another name for a kepi, which is a cap with a flat, round top and a stiff visor.
