Charmbracelet
Charmbracelet was Mariah Carey's twelfth album. It was meant to erase from public memory the double flop of her movie and album Glitter (both 2001). But sales fell off rapidly, the record ultimately selling about 1.1 million copies in U.S.. Critics and fans criticized the album for Carey's emphasis on her whispering vocals, although she reduced her heavy reliance on rappers and sampled beats as noticed on Glitter. As such it is generally considered one of her weaker albums, although it is one of her most diverse works. The album was released on December 2, 2002 and debuted and peaked at number three. It has been certified platinum.
