Charlie Rose (congressman)


 

Charles Grandison Rose III (better known as Charlie Rose) (born August 10 1939) was a Democratic United States congressman. He chaired the House committee investigation of the George H. W. Bush administration's role in selling military supplies to Iraq. He was also accused of being involved in these sales. Rose represented the state of North Carolina. He was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina and was a lawyer before entering politics. He served in the House of Representatives for twelve terms, from 1973 to 1997 and did not run for reelection in 1996.
