Charles Platt apparently once wrote a review about the series of military science-fiction novels Hammer's Slammers in which he claimed that had the author, David Drake, really seen war he would not write "such queasy voyeurism." Mr. Drake, a Vietnam Veteran, has since taken to including despicable characters named "Platt" in his writings.
