Historically, the "Chamber of Deputies" (:fr:Chambre des députés) was the lower house of parliament in the French Third Republic; the name is still informally used for the Assemblée nationale under the current Fifth Republic. It was also the official description of Dáil Éireann (the lower house of the Irish parliament) during the Irish Free State. For a list of other names of lower houses see Lower House.
