Chadderton


 
 

Chadderton is a town situated six miles from the city centre of Manchester. It joins six other towns to form the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, a part of the ten districts of Greater Manchester. Before the local government reorganisation in 1974, Chadderton had an Urban District Council, and was situated in the south east of the old county of Lancashire. Chadderton has an Andrew Carnegie library that is open most weekdays. Chadderton has some local societies, the Chadderton Historical Society and the Chadderton Chrysanthemum Society.
