Central casting

Central Casting is a company located in Burbank, California specializing in casting Extras, Body Doubles, and Stand-ins. Established in 1925--initially as a wing of the major Hollywood studios--they came to dominate the field of extras casting; their name itself eventually developing into a jargon term denoting a generic or or a stereotypical person of some kind, that is now in widespread use outside of the movie business.
