CBC Newsworld
CBC Newsworld is a 24-hour cable television news channel operated by the CBC. It is available to cable subscribers across the country and broadcasts into over 10 million homes nation-wide, as well as into some northern states in the U.S. It is the world's third-oldest television service of this nature, after CNN in the United States and Sky News in the United Kingdom.
Programming
Newsworld originally aired a number of magazine-style programs, along with hourly news updates. In recent years, the network has moved from that style of programming to focussing solely on live news programs and documentary programs. Several of Newsworld's programs also air on the main CBC network, which is available to most Canadians who own a television and antenna. The national morning program, ', airs on the main CBC network from 6 - 7 a.m. local time. On Newsworld, the program airs from 6 a.m. eastern standard time to 10:30 a.m. EST. CBC's midday newscast, ', airs from noon to 12:30 on CBC TV, and hourly for 30 minutes on CBC Newsworld.
