Catherine Bach

Catherine Bach (born March 1, 1954 in Warren, Ohio) is an American actress of German and Mexican descent. She is best known for playing Daisy Duke in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard, and for playing Margo Dutton in African Skies.

Catherine became a TV icon when, unhappy with the wardrobe provided for her Daisy Duke character, she fashioned short shorts from a pair of jeans and walked into history. Thanks to the actress and her character, the term "Daisy Dukes" is now synonymous with cut off denim jean shorts in popular vernacular. Catherine sold over 5 million copies of her now famous "Daisy Duke" poster.

After several years of private life, interest in Catherine surged in 2005 with the premiere of "The Dukes of Hazzard" on Country Music Television (CMT) to a record 23 million viewers in the first weekend. She is currently in talks to pen her memoirs.

Catherine was born Catherine Bachman to a German father and Mexican mother. One of her first film roles was as Melody in the 1974 film Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. She married David Shaw in 1976, but the couple divorced in 1981. She married her second husband Peter Lopez in 1991. Catherine has two daughters, Sophie and Laura, from her second marriage.
