Cathar (band)

The band "Cathar" was formed in 2000 by Adam Cathar. Based in Logan WV, the band has released 2 full cds. The band's styles include metal, techno, rock, and progressive. Influences include : Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Mushroomhead, Mindless Self Indulgence, and Staind. Currently the band is self produced using the label "Cathar Productions Sanctuary". It is currently a one man band.

The first cd was released under the name "Matricide" and was titled "The Red Book". After the release of the album the band found that the name had already been taken and floated around without a name until the second album when Des Cathar and Adam Cathar decided to name the band "Cathar". Shortly after the name had been decided, however, Des Cathar left the band. Leaving Adam Cathar to be forced to take up vocals, as well as the rest of the instruments.

"The Red Book" contained 8 songs and had no vocals.

The second album, titled "Emotions (Physically)", contained 2 cds. One, titled "Emotions (Electronic)", featured all electronically produced songs. Even the vocals were done electronically. The second CD, titles "Emotions (Vocal)", contained 11 songs. All of which has featured Adam Cathar's Vocals.
