In 1934, Casterman takes over the Le Petit Vingtième editions for the publication of the albums of The Adventures of Tintin, from its 4th number, Cigars of the Pharaoh. From 1942, Casterman publishes reworked versions and colored versions of the Tintin's albums.

Willing to address a more mature public, Casterman decided in 1973 to publish the first albums of Corto Maltese of the italian author Hugo Pratt. As a next step, it creates in 1978 its monthly magazine A suivre, which will have an enormous impact on the comics renewal of the 90s. Casterman stopped the publication of A Suivre in 1997.
