The university was #1 in Yahoo Internet Life's 1999 Most Wired College list http://www.cwru.edu/pubs/cnews/1999/4-8/yahoo.htm. There was a perception that this award was obtained through partially false or inaccurate information submitted for the survey, and the university did not appear at all on the 2000 Most Wired College list (which included 100 institutions).
