Carole Bayer Sager


 

Carole Bayer Sager (born March 8, 1947 in New York City, New York) is an American lyricist, songwriter and singer best-known for writing the lyrics to many popular songs performed on Broadway and in Hollywood films. Sager's songwriting credits include "Don't Cry Out Loud", "On My Own", "I'd Rather Leave While I'm In Love", "Everything Old Is New Again", "When I Need You", "Midnight Blue", "Nobody Does It Better" and "Come In From The Rain." Sager wrote her first pop hit "A Groovy Kind Of Love" in 1966 while a student at the New York City High School of Music and Art. It was recorded by a British invasion band, The Mindbenders.
