Carol DaRonch

Carol DaRonch was an 18 year old girl from Murray, Utah, who was the victim of an attempted kidnap by mass murderer, Ted Bundy. Bundy, posing as a police officer, had approached DaRonch in the local shopping mall with an alleged report of her car being broken into.

Concerned, DaRonch followed Bundy out of the mall and checked her car, but nothing was amiss. Bundy asked her to ride with him in his car and make a formal complaint at the police station, but when Bundy pulled up in his VW Beetle, DaRonch had instincts that something was wrong.

Although DaRonch did get in to Bundy's car, she very quickly realised her mistake and fought her way free.

After DaRoch positively identified Bundy in a police lineup, he was arrested and charged with her abduction on February 26, 1976.
