Captain Skroeder

Captain Skroeder is the main antagonist of the 1980s science fiction movie Short Circuit. Skroeder (whose first name isn't given in the movie) is head of security at Nova Robotics, and possibly served as a liason between Nova and the military in the joint SAINT robotics project. As such, he is infinitely professional and serious about his job, almost to the point of paranoia. It's clear early in the movie that he is a bit of a traditionalist and holds a slight technophobic streak, as evident by his vehement rants against the project, especially after Johnny 5 goes AWOL. Near the end of the movie, he defies orders from Nova head Dr. Howard Marner and successfully destroys what he believed to be the wayward robot, though he does not realize it was only a copy and not the real thing. With the SAINT project officially down the tubes by this incident, he is subsequently fired from Nova, and his current whereabouts are unknown. He is a loving father of three, which may partially explain his paranoia during the SAINT incident.
