Cannibal Ox is a hip hop music duo from Harlem, New York. Its members include Vast Aire and Vordul Mega (a.k.a. Vordul Megilah). In 2001, they released their debut, The Cold Vein, which drew rave reviews and comparisons to the 36 Chambers-era Wu-Tang Clan. A large part of the album's success is due to producer El-P, who crafts an incredible, empty soundscape. Cannibal Ox is a part of the Definitive Jux record label.

In October 2003, the group disbanded to pursue individual careers, but the official word is that the group was on hiatus and that they had not permanently disbanded. It remains to be seen whether or not this is true. In a Summer 2005 issue of Elemental Magazine, Vast Aire was interviewed. When talk came to Vordul, he said that any rumours of discord between them were totally ill-founded.
