The Canadian Opera Company is the largest opera company in Canada and is located in Toronto, Ontario.

It was established in 1950 as the Royal Conservatory Opera Company, by Nicholas Goldschmidt and the late Herman Geiger-Torel. Lotfi Mansouri was COC director for 12 years. It was during this time that the COC introduced ?supertitles," which are English translations of foreign libretti projected above the proscenium during performances. This soon caught on with many opera companies around the world. The COC's current General Director is Richard Bradshaw.

The COC's performance season is presented at the Hummingbird Centre in Toronto. The Four Seasons Centre, future home of the COC, will open in 2006. It will be designed by Diamond and Schmitt Architects.
