Cameron County, Texas
Cameron County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 335,227. Its county seat is Brownsville6. Cameron is named for Captain Ewen Cameron http://www.tamu.edu/ccbn/dewitt/captains.htm#cameron, a soldier during the Texas Revolution and in the ill fated Mier Expedition. He was executed by a special order from General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna
