Camden's library has been rebuilt in a recent years. Camden is the home town of poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, and a large, but now obscurely relocated statue of her looks out over the harbor.

Today, the town of Camden is best known to tourists as an idyllic example of a scenic coastal Maine town, full of bed & breakfasts, fine restaurants, and visiting sailboats in the harbor. For the best panoramic view, drive or hike up Mount Battie, overlooking the Camden-Rockport coastal area.
