California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI) is located in Camarillo, California, in California's Ventura County. CSUCI opened in 2002 as the 23rd campus in the California State University system as the successor to the Ventura County branch campus of CSU Northridge.

The campus and buildings previously housed the Camarillo State Mental Hospital. The campus is under continuing construction to accomodate the projected growth of the university; while currently there are under 3,000 registered students, projected enrollment for the year 2025 is 15,000 full-time students.

CSUCI offers undergraduate majors in fourteen areas of study: art, biology, business, chemistry, computer science, economics, , environmental science and resource management, history, information technology, liberal studies, mathematics, psychology, sociology, and Spanish, as well as several teaching credential programs and master's degrees in business administration, biotechnology and bioinformatics, computer science, education, and mathematics. An undergraduate political science major is planned to begin in Fall 2006.
