Cacique
A cacique is a tribal chief in Latin America, particularly of the Spanish West Indies from the 16th century. The term is a Spanish variation of the Ta?no word cacike or the Arawak word kassequa, both meaning "chieftain". ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
