Bursa (anatomy)
A bursa (Latin: Bursa synovialis) is a fluid filled sac located between a bone and tendon which normally serves to reduce friction between the two moving surfaces. Inflammation or infection of the bursa leads to bursitis. The plural of bursa is bursae.
