Burntisland is a burgh in Fife, Scotland on the Firth of Forth. The seaside resort is known for its sandy blue flag beach and the 15th century Rossend Castle.

Burntisland is known for its traditional summer fair and Highland games day.

"The Binn", a hill to the rear of the town, is a landmark of the Fife coastline, a volcanic plug rising 193m (632ft) above sea level.

The area was formerly a centre for shale oil production, shipbuilding, and alumina refining.

On April 29, 2004, Burntisland was granted Fairtrade Town status.
