Burek

Burek is a popular dish of Turkish origin, especially popular in Bosnia and Herzegovina and other Balkan countries. It is directly related to Turkish b?rek. Burek is made of phyllo pastry filled with ground beef or with cottage cheese.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina the word burek refers only to the meat variant, the one with cottage cheese being called sirnica. In Croatia the same word refers to both kinds, with the cheese one being understood without an additional qualifier.
