The museums include the Buffalo Bill Museum, which features general western articles and historical items, the Plains Indians Museum featuring exhibits related to the culture and people of Wyoming's Native American tribes, and the Whitney Gallery of Western Art, featuring paintings and sculptures having to do with the theme of the American west. A firearms museum contains guns and other weapons dating as far back as the pre-colonial era, all the way up to the modern military.
