Buena Vista Social Club (album)

Buena Vista Social Club is an album featuring Cuban music. The album was produced by Ry Cooder who travelled to Cuba to record sessions with the musicians, many of whom were previously unknown outside of that country. The musicians were also featured in a documentary film of the same name.

The musicians who feature in this album were all once part of the Buena Vista Social Club, a membership club that was at its height during the 1940s; many of them have been performing in Cuba for the last sixty years.
