Brother Justin Crowe

Brother Justin Crowe is a character from the HBO drama, Carnivàle played by Clancy Brown. He was born Alexi Belyakov. He was rescued at a young age from a train wreck by Reverend Norman Balthus who raised both him and his older sister Iris as his own children. Justin followed in Norman's shoes and became a Methodist minister, eventually tending to his flock in Mintern, California. However, in 1933, he began manifesting strange supernatual abilities that he hadn't been able to use since he was a boy. These abilities grew over the course of that year and proved to be abilities gifted upon the Avatar of Darkess. Once he realized his true nature, Justin began gathering his flock to him using his newfound abilities of persuasion and began actively seeking out his counterpart, the Avatar of Light. The search culminated in a climactic battle between himself and young carny Ben Hawkins, the Avatar of Light.
