• Four Season Farm, the nationally-known organic farm of Eliot Coleman and Barbara Damrosch.
• Good Life Center, the hand-built last home of Helen and Scott Nearing, dedicated to advancing their vision of social justice and simple living.
• The massive gravel pit on Varnumville Road, it was once the best farmland in the town but was instead mined for gravel. It is well-known in the area as an site where toxic chemicals are dumped: There was a garbage fire that burned from Christmas of 2001 to May of 2002.
