Bristol is a city located in Hartford County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 60,062.

It is a relatively small city in central Connecticut, often considered to be the birthplace of the American spring industry. The spring manufacturing industry is still a large employer in the town. However, Bristol is better known today as the home of ESPN, whose central studios are in the town. Bristol's nickname is Mum City because of its chrysanthemum production. The name of the local daily newspaper is the Bristol Press.
