Brill Academic Publishers (known as E. J. Brill in Leiden) is a publishing house which specialises in academic literature regarding Middle Eastern, Asian, Arabic, and Turkish cultures. Brill's headquarters are in Leiden, a city and municipality in South Holland, The Netherlands.

In the 19th century, Brill was often called upon to print books prepared by other publishers, who felt Brill had the highest-quality Arabic fonts. Brill published the Encyclopedia of Islam (in German, French, and English), first in 1913, and later in 1987; they also published many journals on Islamic and Biblical studies, and critical text for many manuscripts of the Middle Ages.
