• From its use above, Brigadoon also means a remote, unspoiled or idyllic place, compare with Shangri-la.
• The name Brigadoon has been given to festivals celebrating Scottish and Celtic culture and heritage, including one held annually in Bundanoon, a village in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, Australia
• Brigadoon is also a suburb of Perth, Western Australia.
• The basic idea was taken for a Japanese anime, which also took the name. Its plot is fantasy violence, however.
• The name Brigadoon is sometimes used to refer to any magical or mysterious place, as in this quote:
