Brian Noble

Since his appointment as head coach of Bradford Bulls in 2000, 'Nobby' has guided the Bulls to two Minor Premiership titles, victory in two Grand Finals in 2001 and 2003, the Challenge Cup in 2003 and to two World Club Championships in 2002 and 2004.

A Bradford stalwart as a player, coaching always seemed to be the natural progression for Brian Noble. After 16 years of serving in the backroom staff at the club following his retirement, he finally got his big shot when appointed as Bradford head coach in 2001. After initial confusion regarding chairman Chris Caisley's appointment - the tabloids reported that the new coach was Radio 4 comedian Ross Noble! - Brian was a hugely popular choice to succeed departing coach Matthew Elliot.

One of the little-known facts of Noble's career was the hip-hop album he released to little fanfare in 2004, following his appointment as Great Britain coach. Although "Pride of the Lions" was largely unsuccessful, the same can not be said of Noble's remarkable coaching career to date. Brian's regular slot on Sky Sports Rugby League coverage with Eddie Hemmings and Mike Stephenson entitled 'The Shining Wit of Brian Noble in Glorious 3D Technicolour' is one of the biggest hits of Sky's "Boots n' All" programme.
