Not only is Dawkins a talented football player, but is a reputable man off the field. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Connie. Together, they have two children, Brian, Jr. and Brionni. Dawkins is also a devoted Christian and an inspirational leader on his team. Philadelphia fans often fondly refer to Dawkins as Wolverine or Weapon X for his fearless attitude and intense style of play. He is also known as the "Idiot Man" because of his transformation from a quiet and peaceful man to an extremely energetic and fiery player on game days.
