Brazil is a city located in Clay County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 8,188. The city is the county seat of Clay County{{GR|6}}. The current chief executive of Brazil is Mayor Tom Arthur who is serving his first term.

The town name "Brazil" is often pronounced differently than the country of Brazil, South America. Indigenous people often pronounce it "Brayzill" or "Braayzeeull."
