The members of the group are Lee "Big Duke" Dixon (29), Miguel "Big Gee" Scott (26), Jacoby "Jody Breeze" White (20), and Jay "Young Jeezy" Jenkins (24). They are currently signed to P. Diddy's Bad Boy Records and are the first artists on the Bad Boy South imprint.

Their self-titled debut album, Boyz N Da Hood, was released on June 21, 2005 and peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The album features production from Jazze Pha, Nitti, and DJ Toomp. Their debut single, "Dem Boyz", reached #56 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart during the summer of 2005. Its music video received massive play on BET and MTV, and especially on the digital music video station MTV Jams, where it was a heavy-rotation staple during the entire summer.
