Bowmanville, Ontario


 

Bowmanville is a suburban community or a town located about 55 km east of Toronto and about 15 km east of Oshawa and west of Port Hope on the old highway linking Toronto and Kingston and Scugog Road linking north to Caesarea Bowmanville since the 1950s is accessed with the superhighway (Highway 401) and serves two interchanges including one at Bennett to the east. The interchange with the superhighway to Lindsay and Peterborough lies 500 m east. Bowmanville is in the westcentral part of Clarington and is home to about 30% of Clarington since 1993. Bowmanville was a municipality until 1993 and formerly was surrounded by Darlington except to the east where Bowmanville was bounded with Clarke. Bowmanville is also E of Port Perry and about 65 km SW of Peterborough.
