The team has never qualified for a big tournament, but in the last qualifiyng campaign for Euro 2004, only one goal in the last game against Denmark separated them from the big tournament in Portugal.

A similar situation to that of two years ago is unfolding. An awful start in the Qualifying Campaign avail, the team has a good chance of qualifying to the World Cup. They'll meet San Marino in Zenica the 8th of October and if they win that game, three points in Belgrade against Serbia in the last game on the 12th of October, will guarantee them at least a second place, which means play off.
