Les Gites Fleuris is located on a quiet semi-private single lane road, nestled amongst the idyllic countryside, in a hamlet of 18th century stone perigordian farmhouses. The Pool, Jacuzzi, and sundeck are situated in the tranquil orchard, surrounded by grass, trees and flowers. Only 2 km is the dramatic Chateau de Hautefort! A magnificent 17th C Chateau that rivals those in the Loire Valley. Nearby are prehistoric sites, medieval villages, and 1001 castles. After a day of touring the sites, relax and enjoy the serene valley views from your terrace or the pool! See many photos of the 2 available houses and the many SITES of the REGION: ************** www.lesgitesfleuris.com *********** Read a letter published about us in the San Francisco newspaper BELOW. La Petite Rose is a charming restored traditional 18th c. stone 1 bedroom home with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, living room with big fireplace, TV with DVD player, wireless internet access, and CD player. The Wisteria House is a beautifully restored traditional stone farmhouse with a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, separate WC, living room with big stone fireplace, TV, DVD player, wireless internet access, and CD player. Relaxation is easy, either poolside on the sundeck, in the Jacuzzi, or on a hammock; or enjoy a peaceful stroll of the property acreage of fruit and walnut trees. Enjoy the wonderful view while playing: ping-pong, badminton/volleyball, croquet, swinging on the swing set, or in the children’s raised fort with climbing wall. An indoor games room will keep all the family entertained with games, toys, ping pong, and Disney video cassettes. There is a central laundry room with washing machines and dryers which you can use at no extra charge. Hautefort is a great bicycling and walking area with rolling hillsides and lovely forest and valley views. All services are within walking distance: 1 km to boulangerie, grocery store, and bank. 2 km to tabac, post office, and the office of tourism. 2.5km to a swimming lake. Perigord is THE place to go if you love truffles and foie gras. This little corner of Southwest France is home to the black truffle, one of the most famous and expensive luxury foods of France. (Truffle Markets are open in Winter!) It is also the land of foie gras-- that typical French delicacy made from fattened goose or duck liver, along with other Canard specialty dishes. We have many good restaurants in the area. The wine regions of Bergerac and Bordeaux are only 1 hour to 1.5 hours away. There are many famous tourist sites: grottes (caves), Troglodyte sites, Bastille towns, Castles, and old villages are within a 1-hour radius away (Lascaux is only 20 minutes).Valley’s with castles where one can easily imagine bandits, knights in armor and the primitive life of the peasants. Many sporting activities in the area: basketball, tennis, soccer, volleyball, bocce, canoeing, fishing, etc... Step back in time to the old France of farms and castles and caves and stone villages; and after touring, enjoy a wonderful bottle of Bergerac or Bordeaux Wine with some of France's famous cheeses! And after a day of touring, unwind in the Jacuzzi and enjoy the unobstructed view of the myriad of stars! Visit our website: www.lesgitesfleuris.com San Francisco CHRONICLE ARTICLE PUBLISHED JULY 9 2006 & Dec 31, 2006: A Cottage of One’s Own in Rural France Our travels recently led us to southwestern France, where we had a great experience at Les Gîtes Fleuris in the Dordogne region of the Aquitaine. We thought we had taken a wrong turn as we drove up the dirt road, past chickens and horses and shirtless Frenchmen watering their flowers at 9 p.m. Then we saw the gorgeous farmhouses shown on the Web site, on top of a hill overlooking sprawling farmland and beautiful countryside. We stayed in their Petite Rose house, a romantic and rustic one-bedroom cottage built in the 16th century. The list of amenities includes wireless Internet, a pool, hot tub, outdoor barbecue and patio, bicycles and ping pong. The best resource, in our opinion, was the owners, Larry and Renata Barnes. They live in the main house with their two lovely daughters and are an amazing source of local knowledge. Renata, a former travel agent, gave us great tips on what to see and what not to see, and both were always good for sharing a glass of wine on the patio. The town where the chateau is located was surprisingly untouched by time. The Bordeaux wine country is less than two hours away, but the best part of the area was the Dordogne River, where for a few euros you can take a leisurely, daylong canoe trip past castles and unbeatable scenery. Weekly rates for Les Gîtes Fleuris begin at 350 euros (about $440 US) per week. Contact: Les Gîtes Fleuris, Les Broussilloux, Hautefort, France. 011-335-53-50-44-37, www.lesgitesfleuris.com. so much space you can breakdance (on one of two floors) (hayes valley) $1500

One bedroom in a two bedroom duplex is available in a new Hayes Valley construction. The apartment is quite large, approx. 1600 sq. ft., with two floors: upstairs one bathroom, living room, studio and shared closet, and downstairs second living area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, dining area, kitchen, and two shared closets. The available bedroom has high ceilings, probably 20 ft., with three large windows. The bedroom is south facing, gets tons of light, and is quite large (probably 15ft. x 20ft.) The kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances (gas stove, new refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal and microwave). All of the bathrooms have marble countertops, bathtubs and ample amount of space. There's also a pantry for storing your sundries between trips to Costco. Most of the living areas are furnished, but there is some room for extra furniture as the amount of floor space is crazy big. Also has turntables. All regular stipulations about roommates apply: clean, housebroken, not passive-aggressive or guilt-tripping, deep knowledge of Bordeaux and Burgundian wines from 1960's to current, can do at least 20 pull-ups, etc. Bloggers are ok. Rent is $1500/mo. along with a 1.5x security deposit on move-in. Available beginning Oct 1st, but an earlier move-in date could be negotiated. A little about the roommate: male, early-30's chip designer, works in the south bay, dj, producer, golf and running nut.

There are many famous tourist sites: grottes (caves), Troglodyte sites, Bastille towns, Castles, and old villages are less than 1-hour drive away (Lascaux is only 20 minutes).Valley’s with castles where one can easily imagine bandits, knights in armor and the primitive life of the peasants.
