Boothby

Boothby is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe, playing the groundskeeper of the Starfleet Academy and Starfleet Headquarters in San Francisco. He was first seen in ' episode The First Duty, and brought to life by Ray Walston.

The groundskeeper has been somewhat of a fixture at the academy since 2321, with a career spanning half a century. He has helped various (to him) promising Cadets enrolled there, including Jean-Luc Picard and Kathryn Janeway. While he was tough on them, they remember him fondly. As such he filled a role not unlike a Sensei.
