Boom
There are several meanings of the word boom:

- A sound such as a sonic boom.
- An onomatopoeia for the sound of an explosion.
- A mechanical arm for holding equipment, such as a microphone.
- Boom (sailing) - A spar at the foot of a mainsail on a sailing boat.
- A floating barrier, usually a chain supported by interspersed buoyant elements, for blocking a waterway, such as a narrow harbour entrance or a river.
- Boom (source port) - Source port for Doom.
- An economic boom - A time of rapid growth in wealth, as in a boom town.
- Boom, Antwerp - A municipality within Antwerp, Belgium. In Dutch (the native language of Boom) boom also means "tree".
- BOOMTV - a proposed Canadian premium television service.
- Boom, a 1968 movie directed by Joseph Losey.
- Boom, a song recorded by Christian rock group P.O.D..
