Bonanno crime family
The Bonanno family is one of "Five Families" said to be in control of organized crime (Mafia activities) in New York City. It is named for its founder Joseph Bonanno.
Joe Massino
Named by Rastelli as leader Joe Massino is generally credited with bringing the family back from the brink of oblivion, as the other "Five Families" were in decline, though he was arrested in 2003 and convicted on several racketeering and murder charges in July of 2004. In 2005, he admitted to eight Mob murders, which has sentenced him to life imprisonment without parole.
