Bojnourd


 
 

Bojnurd is the capital city of North Khorasan province, Iran. It is about 701 km. from Tehran and is located in the plains and enjoys a mild, mountainous weather. This city was originally called "Bijan Gerd", with gerd meaning city and bojnurd meaning Bijans city.

The ancient city was situated on a hill northwest of the present city of Bojnurd, known as Sareban Mahaleh.
