Taking advantage of watching a fight by Bob Sapp vs Akebono Taro in "K-1 Dynamite!!" on New Year's Eve in 2003, Bobby tried judo on the program. (In passing, he got the black belt in an exam to get it)

Karakuri-TV's emcee Akashiya, who watched a VTR in which Bobby unexpectedly struggled, said half-jokingly "Bobby might be able to take part in a sport combative event at the end of the year". As a result, he tried various combative sports in the program. In February, 2004, he was initiated into pancrase "GRABAKA" and learned combative sports under Sanae Kikuta. In March at the same year, he let him realize a sparring match with Royce Gracie and lost, but Bobby showed an unexpected good fight. (Actually, Gracie did shed blood from his head in this fight)
