James Robert Shawkey (December 4, 1890 - December 31, 1980) was a Major League Baseball pitcher for the Philadelphia Athletics and New York Yankees from 1913 to 1927. He won 20 or more games four times for the Yankees. Shawkey also served as Yankees manager after the untimely death of Miller Huggins. He served in this capacity for just one season, 1930, when he guided the Yankees to a disappointing third place finish.
