Blaw-Knox Tower

A Blaw-Knox Tower is a guyed tower for medium wave transmission with a diamond-shape form. The Blaw-Knox Tower (also Blaw-Knox Radiator) acts as aerial of half wavelength and is insulated against ground. Blaw-Knox Towers were widely built in the United States before World War II. In Europe there are perhaps only two such towers. They are located in Lisnargarvey and in Budapest-Lakihegy. The tower in Budapest-Lakihegy is perhaps the highest Blaw-Knox tower in the world.
