25 Years of BET
If you would have told someone there would have been a television network for African American's and other people of color they would have looked at you crazy, but that came true. Today BET is seen in almost every household in America, and tries to show African American culture to people who may not be familar with urban life. The network will turn 25 in 2005, and it has plenty of accomplishmants and controversies. The network had a successful relief telethon for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, many of whom were Black. The network has ran into controversy over some of the content shown, but overall it has had wonderful 25 years on the air.
