Black dog
Black dog is a chiefly British slang phrase associated with Winston Churchill although its origins are obscure; it means clinical depression or simply depression. The phrase was used to name the Black Dog Institute in 2002, an Australian educational, research and clinical facility dealing with mood disorders, including depression.
