Bisho


 
 

Bisho is a town in South Africa, and the capital of the Eastern Cape Province. It was also the capital of the former bantustan of Ciskei. The republic of the Ciskei was granted independence in 1981 and was reincorporated into the New South Africa in 1994. Bisho is the Xhosa word for buffalo, which is also the name of the river that runs through this town.
