Big Japan started in 1997 as an amateur high school band in South California. Members of the band are Adam Brody, Stevey Jim, Bob Jim, and Petur Hutchinson. The group started off performing at their high school, then gradually ranked higher, performing in bars, entering talent quests, and auditioning.
